TERROR IN SIX MILE CANYON

Movement caught her eye, and Rebecca looked up into the rearview mirror, the smile fading from her face. ‘Easy, Vicky. Hold on!’ Rebecca screamed just as she felt a jolt from behind. The black truck rammed them, and the icy road kept Rebecca from being able to turn the wheel.

BIOGRAPHY

Patricia Redican has lived in the Virginia City, Nevada area for 52 years and has been married forty-nine of those to an avid hunter and outdoorsman. They have two grown children and three grandchildren, a horse and two mules (three counting her husband), a pen full of chickens, three dogs, and four stray cats. She lives in a solar powered log cabin they built with the help of wonderful friends and family. Jaunts into the surrounding hills, visits to the historical town of Virginia City, where ghost stories run amok, and a wildly active imagination inspired this story to be born. I love my characters. They developed more character as the stories unfolded. They made me laugh and they made me cry. They have humor, love, compassion, determination, and more.
After I became a real estate agent I found 43 acres of off-grid property in Six Mile Canyon with a seasonal creek running through it. We bought it and began building our solar-powered log cabin, most of what I learned is part of The Gold Nugget and Terror In Six MileCanyon stories. After moving into our cabin I began to wander the hills around our property, walking my dogs. I began to find crystals and bought a metal detector. I found lots of metal, none of it gold. I walked around Virginia City and became interested in the local history. My husband’s great, great, great Grandfather was Emanual Penrod, one of four of the original owners of the Ophir Mine. In its heyday there were nearly 30,000 residents, mostly in tents in Virginia City and up and down Six Mile Canyon. After the Comstock Lode silver strike of 1859 ended the city’s population declined sharply. I learned that the cabin I came across nestled beside a tree-lined creek and surrounded by overgrown fields was a vegetable farm servicing Virginia City in the 1800’s. The ghost stories in Virginia City run amok and are quite fascinating. Put it all together and my wild imagination took over, creating The Gold Nugget, and its sequel Terror In Six Mile Canyon.

THE GOLD NUGGET

Rebecca, you must keep what I’m about to tell you very quiet. Do not breathe a word of it to anyone. Promise me … If anything happens to me, you get in touch with Sheriff Tom Ackerman of Virginia City and start an investigation.

When her dad and brother go missing, Los Angeles beauty Rebecca Simmons quits her job and travels to Nevada to search out Sheriff Tom Ackerman. From the moment she arrives in town, she becomes the target of a man determined to get what he wants at any cost. Rebecca arrives at her dad’s cabin with the sheriff to find both her dad’s and her brother’s trucks with lashed tires, shattered glass, and riddled with bullet holes. Someone is serious about what they want from her dad, but what is it? As Rebecca unravels the mystery, she also discovers her growing attraction to the sheriff. Danger, mystery, romance, and a one-hundred-year-old ghost are just the beginning of what Rebecca finds in Patricia Redican’s The Gold Nugget.

TERROR IN SIX MILE CANYON

Movement caught her eye, and Rebecca looked up into the rearview mirror, the smile fading from her face. “Easy, Vicky. Hold on!” Rebecca screamed just as she felt a jolt from behind. The black truck rammed them, and the icy road kept Rebecca from being able to turn the wheel. Now they were perched, parallel with the creek and the pavement, both left tires hanging dangerously over the edge of the embankment.
They thought their troubles were over, but it was only the beginning. Thanks to Sheriff Tom Ackerman, the man they thought was responsible for terrorizing Rebeca Ackerman’s father and brother over a plot of land is in jail. But before the investigation can even begin the key witness is beaten up and left for dead. Apparently someone is still after the gold Rebecca’s father found on his property in six Mile Canyon. But, Who? Why is Vicky’s new housemate, Amy, acting so suspicious? When Vicky and Rebeca go missing, it’s up to Tom and Steven to find them before it’s too late! Along the way, they will encounter ghostly miners and a one-hundred-year-old ghost named Lorelei, who will also play a part in bringing the villains to justice.
