THE GOLD NUGGET
When her dad and brother go missing, Los Angeles beauty Rebecca Simmons quits her job and travels to Nevada to search out Sheriff Tom Ackerman. From the moment she arrives in town, she becomes the target of a man determined to get what he wants at any cost. Rebecca arrives at her dad’s cabin with the sheriff to find both her dad’s and her brother’s trucks with lashed tires, shattered glass, and riddled with bullet holes. Someone is serious about what they want from her dad, but what is it? As Rebecca unravels the mystery, she also discovers her growing attraction to the sheriff. Danger, mystery, romance, and a one-hundred-year-old ghost are just the beginning of what Rebecca finds in Patricia Redican’s The Gold Nugget.

PRESS and REVIEWS
Finding the truth is always an adventure. The Gold Nugget is the tale of Rebecca Simmons, a woman who travels to Nevada to find the whereabouts of her brother. Along the way, she finds a sheriff who she quickly develops a fancy for, but the little joy is trumped by it, seeming her father and brother may have met a violent end. The Gold Nugget is a fascinating mystery about the west, highly recommended.
The Gold Nugget is a well-written, well-devised story set in small-town Nevada. Rebecca Simmons’s father and brother disappear after purchasing property and discovering a large gold nugget, with the possibility of unearthing even more gold. Worried for their safety, Rebecca leaves her home in Los Angeles, determined to find out what happened to her family members. Author Patricia Redican has created a cast of interesting characters. The addition of Virginia City’s town ghost story adds another layer to the mystery. Redican has also thrown in a few nuggets of information about creating self-sufficient homes, making her novel also a little bit educational. She clearly has plenty of personal knowledge of the subject.
The Gold Nugget “Thrilling mystery with historic features and action! This book with enchanting unknowns and a touch of romance will fulfill the curiosity of all its readers.”
Thanks for letting me get a sneak preview of your book. It was a fun read. I enjoyed reading about places dear to me and the characters are true Nevadans. I can’t wait for the next one to be done! It was both adventurous and romantic. Keep them coming.
The book is a mix of mystery and romance with a little bit of local history thrown in for good measure. It is a nice, easy read but has some good plot twists that make you want to keep reading. The main characters are all very well developed and you get a sense of what they would look like if you ran into them on the streets of Virginia City. Even though the book has a lot of romance, it was written with class and tact so that its’s appropriate for even younger readers. I recommend the book and hope to see more works (maybe even a sequel?) from Ms. Redican
Having been in and around Virginia City on a bike, the places and scenes were easy to see in my mind. I hope for a sequel soon.Keep ‘em coming Patricia. And thanks for keeping your characters mostly moral with that little bit of sensuous romance thrown in for interest. And living the dream on a few acres in a log cabin? Of course it is attainable. You easily put me there, at least in my dreams.
This book has a twist of terror and adventure. I love the excitement!
I am so in love with these books! Reading Terror In Six Mile Canyon made me terribly homesick for the mountains I grew up in and the way the sun sets behind the Rubies turning everything pink. This story has a little of everything, adventure and mystery with just enough romance and some good, old-fashioned hauntings thrown in for good measure. I can’t wait for the next book!
